PARTNERS PROGRAMS INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT
PARTNERS In its effort to make boating better and safer, MariSafe continues to survey the marine industry to find the best service providers for its customers. MariSafe’s goal is to align itself with sound business providers that guarantee the quality of their services and products, have a “customer-first” mindset, and are committed to collaborating with MariSafe to create a new standard of service for recreational boaters. For MariSafe, this partner approach means that boaters’ everyday needs are consistently met with professionalism, respect, competitive pricing, and expediency to enhance boaters’ on-water experiences.
Here’s a short-list of some of MariSafe’s trusted partners:
Global Medical Systems (http://www.globalmd.net) Seattle-based Global Medical Systems, a global leader in offering comprehensive medical support for remote operations, and MariSafe have teamed up to offer boaters access to Doctor OnBoard™, a prepaid global medical program connecting a worldwide association of physicians and other medical professionals specializing in medical assistance to boaters, commercial vessels and others in remote locations. In a medical emergency, a call to Doctor OnBoardTM puts boaters in direct contact with a consulting physician 24/7. Boaters’ subscription to the program includes physician consultation, onboard medical kit design, emergency evacuation and trauma care coordination, referrals to port medical facilities, appointments coordination and medical records service. Global Medical Systems, which serves the maritime, aviation, and remote research, transportation and construction industries, has handled more than 16,000 consultations to vessels at sea and at remote locations worldwide since 1991.
National Marine Underwriters, Inc. (http://www.nmu.com) MariSafe selected National Marine Underwriters (NMU) as its underwriter of boats/yachts, personal watercraft, and six-passenger charter boats. When it comes to insurance for recreational boaters, Annapolis, MD-based NMU, with its exclusive focus on marine insurance, is the definitive choice that has successfully underwritten this class of business since 1983. Focusing on one class of insurance allows NMU to concentrate its efforts on the needs of the recreational boating community and to provide a comprehensive all-risk policy with competitive terms. Coverage is available in the contiguous 48 states, with additional territory extensions available.
MethodFactory (http://www.methodfactory.com) Sarasota, FL-based MethodFactory, a technology solutions provider, has helped MariSafe, since it’s inception, to translate the MariSafe management team’s 180 years of boating experiences and vision into a digital treasure trove of solutions for recreational boaters. From MariSafe.com’s overall site layout, to the many digital directories and interactive tools boaters need to keep track of their boat’s gear, boating regulations, and more, Method Factory has handily partnered with MariSafe to craft an easy-to-navigate Web site for the intrepid boater. MethodFactory specializes in providing companies with real-world solutions that leverage technology and the Internet for the benefit of its clients’ customers. Method Factory has built a reputation of delivery, client focus, integrity and true partnership.

Second, DAN promotes and supports underwater diving research and education particularly as it relates to the improvement of diving safety, medical treatment and first aid. Third, DAN strives to provide the most accurate, up-to-date and unbiased information on issues of common concern to the diving public, primarily, but not exclusively, for diving safety. DAN's vision is to be the most recognized and trusted organization worldwide in the fields of diver safety and emergency services, health, research, and education by its members, instructors, sponsors, and recreational diving community at large.
Marine Industries Association of South Florida(http://www.goboating.org/miasf/) The MIASF (a not for profit trade association) is one of the founders of what is now the largest boat show in the world, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show®. The Marine Industries Association of South Florida, as the owner of the boat show, engaged Yachting Promotions to promote and manage the show, which is held each fall. Over the years, this association of marine-related businesses has grown to almost 800 members, and has become well known both in our community and in Tallahassee for its efforts to ensure that family recreational boating continues to be a safe and enjoyable sport through emphasis on boater education, boating safety and clean waterways. The MIASF also publishes the popular Broward Safe Boating Guide.
Marine Retailers Association of America (http://www.mraa.com) A vital voice in the marine industry since 1971, the non-for-profit Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA) renders educational, developmental, and promotional services for the benefit of its members. The purpose of starting the not-for-profit Chicago-based MRAA was to "promote the pleasure marine industry and welfare of marine retailers." MRAA has since set out to raise the standards of retailing to promote sound growth of the retail marketing of boats, motors, and accessories. Prior to the development of MRAA, the dealer had no voice within the industry and no control over the issues concerning them in Washington, D.C., or with the manufacturers. Today, the MRAA is actively engaged in legislative advocacy on behalf of the nation's boating retailers.
National Marine Manufacturers Association (http://www.nmma.org/) NMMA members, more than 1,600 companies, produce every conceivable product used by recreational boaters. NMMA members produce an estimated 80 percent of marine products used in North America. Formed in 1979 in a merger between the Boating Industry Association of Chicago (BIA) and the National Association of Engine & Boat Manufacturers of New York (NAEBM), roots of the non-profit Association can be traced to 1904 when NAEBM was founded. NMMA is dedicated to creating, promoting and protecting an environment where members can achieve financial success through excellence in manufacturing, in selling, and in servicing their customers.
Northwest Marine Trade Association (http://www.nmta.net) The Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA) is the oldest and largest regional boating trade organization in the nation representing the interests of approximately 800 member companies. Each year the NMTA produces the Seattle Boat Show at the Stadium Exhibition Center and the Seattle Boat Show at Shilshole Bay Marina on behalf of its members. The NMTA works year round to promote boating and keep members informed of developments in the boating industry and also represents its members on the legislative front. The 13-Member Board of Trustees represents retail boat dealers, boat manufacturers, marinas, boatyards, and related marine industry businesses.
National Safe Boating Council (http://www.safeboatingcouncil.org) The National Safe Boating Council, Inc. (NSBC) was organized in September 1958 under the name National Safe Boating Committee. The NSBC presently has a membership of over 300 U.S. and Canadian organizations, all with an interest in boating safety and education. The NSBC membership is diverse, with approximately 65% of the membership being nonprofit organizations and 35% being for-profit organizations. The mission of the NSBC is to reduce accidents and enhance the boating experience. The NSBC is the foremost coalition for the advancement and promotion of safer boating through education.

SAMS® Membership Roster includes over 940 surveyors in the US and other countries.
