Float Plan Response Service
When you create and submit your float plan online as a MariGuard™ member, MariSafe immediately begins monitoring your progress against the itinerary you filed. If you do not report in as scheduled, we will alert your float plan guardians by telephone or email after midnight of the day you failed to check in. They can contact emergency personnel on your behalf to initiate search and rescue operations.
Because your friends and family are more attuned to your activities, having them alert authorities directly dramatically reduces the number of false alarms. The guardians can initiate emergency proceedings at any time and MariSafe will assist them if they request our help. MariSafe also allows emergency personnel immediate access to your profile and float plan if they request it, but we do not alert authorities directly.
